Sales Jumpstart Conversations: How to Manage Messages Like a Pro

Inside Sales Jumpstart, the Conversations tab is where your one-on-one communication happens—text messages, emails, calls, and more. It’s simple, powerful, and built to help you stay on top of every lead without the chaos.
Here’s a real-talk walkthrough so you can confidently manage your inbox and move leads forward.

Navigating the Conversations Overview

The Conversations section is where you communicate directly with leads and clients. It’s designed to keep all your interactions organized and streamlined, allowing you to manage messages across SMS, email, and phone calls from one place.

Navigating Your Inbox

  1. Head to the Conversations tab.
  2. This is your central hub for all incoming and outgoing messages.
  3. Use the left column to filter your view.
    • Unread: New messages waiting for your attention
    • Recent: Conversations from the last few days
    • All: Everything, sorted by date
    • Use the search bar to find a specific message or contact fast.

When you click into a message:
  • You’ll see the full back-and-forth in the center panel.
  • Need to go further back? Scroll up and click “Fetch older messages.”
This helps you stay up to speed on past conversations so you’re never flying blind.

Mark as Read or Reply

You’ve got two main ways to mark a conversation as handled:
  • Reply right there with a text or email using the box at the bottom.
  • Or, if no reply is needed, click “Mark as Read” in the upper right corner.
This keeps your inbox clean and your team aligned on what’s been handled.

Get the Full Picture on Your Contact

On the far right, you’ll see the contact’s profile. This panel is gold for taking quick action:
  • Call or email directly
  • Add tags for organization
  • Toggle DND (Do Not Disturb) on or off
  • Assign to a campaign or drip sequence
  • Create a new Opportunity to move them through your pipeline
  • Schedule an appointment right from the panel
  • Need to clean things up? You can archive or delete conversations too.

🔔 Heads up: If you click the icon in the top right of the message window, it’ll close the conversation without saving anything. Don’t worry—your messages are still there, just not expanded.
